J29
The J29 class has long been the elite one design class in Atlantic Canada. More than 20 boats have been collected here by some of the top racers in the region. With 8 to 10 crew members on as many as 15 boats, top J29 regattas are a sight to behold. Former Olympic competitors, national champions, and top club sailors go toe to toe in highly competitive events where nothing gets left on the table.
In addition to top sailing, J29 sailors get a head turning day sailer and coastal cruiser. J29s also perform very well in local PHRF events and are only a bit more of an investment than a J24. Beautifully maintained and outfitted boats are available in the region for those who want to start at the top but there are plenty of bargains across North America ready for a refit and entry into the kind of class racing that usually costs thousands.
